About Us

Sewak Jatha Dadar, a socio-religious organization managed and run purely on voluntary basis, has been registered under Public Trust Act, 1950 (Mumbai 29 of 1950). Registration No. E30619 (M) dated 28/08/2014. It was established way back with significant support of Sri Guru Singh Sabha (Regd.) Mumbai (SGSS).

* As the name implies, SEWA (Service) has been at the core of our activities, which includes:

  • SEWA: NAGAR KIRTAN.

  • SEWA: GURPURAB DAY (In Pandal).

  • SEWA: PEHLA PRAKASH SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI.

  • SEWA: TAKHAT SACHKHAND SRI HAZUR SAHIB, NANDED.

  • SEWA: GURUDWARA SAHIB MANMAD.

  • CELEBRATING PRAKASH PURAB OF GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI.

OTHER SEWAS

Jatha has been playing an active role in the preparation and distribution of food supplies and other materials during natural calamities/emergencies/mass weddings / major sports events, etc. under the banner of SGSS.

Seminars on FIRST-AID and FIRE-FIGHTING were also conducted by SJD with the support of SGSS in the Dadar Seminar Hall where professionals from the respective fields were called to cover the Theory as well as the Practical sessions.

  • Carrying Nishan Sahib in front of Panj Piaras.

  • Distributing Parshad (Patasa) and receiving offerings at Palki Sahib.

  • Sri Sahib Sewa at Palki Sahib.

  • Entire control in front of Palki Sahib.

  • Sewa of cleaning up the litter left on the roads at various points during the Nagar Kirtan.

GURPURAB DAY (In Pandal) 

  • Preparing and serving Karah Prashad.

  • Sri Sahib Sewa in the Divine presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

  • Preparing and managing overall Langar.

  • Actively participated in creating awareness in reducing wastage of Langar.

PEHLA PRAKASH SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI

  • Preparing and serving Karah Prashad.

  • Preparing and managing overall Langar.

  • Safe upkeep of Sangat Jorhas (shoes).

5 days each of Sewa during Hola Mohalla and Dasehra, which includes:

  • Sewa at Angitha Sahib and inner Parkarma during diwan.

  • Managing queues for Darshan, at Receipt counter and Parshad counter.

  • Acting as bridge or facilitator for effective communication between Gurudwara employees and Sangat coming from all over the globe.

  • Maintaining queues, serving Langar, washing utensils, etc. in Langar (community kitchen).

  • Sewa at various other Gurudwaras under management of Takhat Sachkhand Board

GURUDWARA SAHIB MANMAD

  • Preparation of Parshadas (rotis) for Sangat in which Bibiaan  participated in large numbers.

  • Nagar Kirtan - Sewa of 5 piaare and 5 Nishanchis (carrying Nishan Sahib in front of 5 Piaare)

  • Also, Sewa of general control of Sangat.

  • Initiated Safai Sewa at the Nagar Kirtan, now the locals are actively involved in keeping the streets clean and tidy.

CELEBRATING PRAKASH PURAB OF GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI

  • Jatha has been centrally celebrating Prakash Purab of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji at Gurudwara Sahib Dadar with the support of Sangat, all prominent Jathas in Mumbai and SGSS Dadar.

  • Preparing and managing overall Langar.

  • Safe upkeep of Sangat Jorhas (shoes).
